Meeting Jacob Sørensen and his TBM 940

On a crisp morning at Hans Christian Andersen Airport, the hangar doors slide open to reveal a machine that perfectly mirrors its owner: sleek, purposeful and quietly powerful.

This is where we at Huginn Aviation met Jacob Sørensen, an energetic entrepreneur, aviation enthusiast and proud owner of a Daher TBM 940.

From the very first handshake, it’s clear: Jacob is calm, approachable and intensely focused. The same intensity that has driven him to build and lead Danish companies such as Dansk Stål & Plast and 4XRobots, both active within horticulture and greenery, is present in the way he talks about aviation.

For Jacob, aircraft ownership isn’t a luxury. It’s a tool. A philosophy. A way of operating.

From Curiosity to Deep Aviation Passion

Like many pilots, Jacob’s journey began with curiosity. What started as an interest gradually developed into a lifelong passion for aviation.

He has owned several aircraft along the way, including a Mooney and a Piper, each contributing to his learning curve as a pilot and owner. But when he discovered the Daher TBM 940, he felt he had finally “landed on the right shelf.”

The TBM platform represents a unique blend of engineering precision, performance, luxury and comfort. For a business leader accustomed to high standards, that matters.

The Day in Tarbes He Will Never Forget

One of Jacob’s most memorable moments was collecting his factory-new aircraft from the Daher facility in Tarbes, France.

Standing at the factory in Tarbes after having completed his training, seeing his own TBM 940 ready for delivery, was more than a transaction. It was a milestone.

“It was a special feeling,” he recalls. “You realise this aircraft is going to change how you move, how you work, and how you experience the world.”

That first flight home to Denmark wasn’t just a ferry flight. It was the beginning of a new chapter.

Jacob receives the keys to his brand new TBM940 from Hugo Delpi from Daher Aerospace in Tarbes.

An Aircraft as a Business Multiplier

Jacob primarily uses his TBM 940 for business. As the driving force behind multiple companies, time is his most valuable resource.

The TBM 940 delivers:

  • Speed and Range that connect Denmark and the rest of Europe efficiently
  • Operational Flexibility – access to smaller airfields closer to customers and partners
  • Independence from Airline Schedules
  • Comfort and Safety that allow productive travel

For Jacob, the value equation is simple: the aircraft pays back in time, freedom and capability.

Instead of spending hours navigating commercial connections, security lines and overnight stays, he can depart from Hans Christian Andersen Airport, land closer to his destination, conduct meetings and return home the same day.

In industries like horticulture and robotics, where responsiveness and presence matter, that flexibility becomes a competitive advantage.

The TBM 940’s advanced avionics and automated systems further enhance the experience. It reduces workload, increases situational awareness and allows Jacob to operate with confidence in varying European conditions. It is high performance without compromise.

Precision Engineering Meets Entrepreneurial Mindset

There is a striking parallel between Jacob’s professional life and his choice of aircraft.

At Dansk Stål & Plast and 4XRobots, efficiency, innovation and quality are essential. The same principles are embodied in the TBM 940.

It is not the biggest aircraft in the sky.
It is not the most extravagant.

But it is exceptionally refined.

Single-engine turboprop efficiency delivering near-light-jet performance makes it one of the most capable owner-flown business aircraft available today. For an engaged, hands-on entrepreneur like Jacob, that balance is key. He doesn’t just sit in the cabin, he flies it himself.

And that matters.

Ownership for Jacob is not about status. It is about mastery, responsibility and passion.

Business First – But Not Only Business

While the aircraft is primarily a business tool, Jacob admits he “sneaks in a little pleasure now and then.”

A weekend getaway. A spontaneous trip. Sharing the magic of flight with family or friends.

Those moments remind him why the passion started in the first place.

His aviation journey is far from complete. In fact, he hints at a bucket list that keeps growing and yes, it might one day include stepping up to the Daher TBM 980.

For now, however, he is fully enjoying the 940.

The Value of Ownership

Spending time with Jacob in his hangar makes one thing clear: aircraft ownership is deeply personal, but it is also profoundly practical.

The TBM 940 represents:

  • Control over time
  • Geographic freedom
  • Enhanced business agility
  • Unmatched quality and performance
  • A direct connection between pilot and machine

For entrepreneurs operating across borders, the right aircraft is not an expense. It is infrastructure.

Jacob Sørensen embodies that mindset. Calm but driven. Approachable yet ambitious. A businessman who understands that mobility equals opportunity.

As we leave the hangar at Hans Christian Andersen Airport, the TBM 940 stands ready for its next mission — whether business-critical or memory-making.

And knowing Jacob, there will be many more of both …

At Huginn Aviation, we are proud to meet and support passionate aircraft owners like Jacob — individuals who see aviation not just as transportation, but as transformation.
